One Called Drunk, 6 Seized as Speeders, Another Faces 4 Charges.
One motorist was arrested on charges of drunken driving, six others were nabbed on speeding charges and another was arrested for four separate alleged offenses by police here over the weekend. The motorist charged with drunk driving is Andrew W. Parker, 51, colored, of 958 Bramhall avenue, Jersey City. He was arrested shortly after midnight yesterday after the car he was driving crashed into two parked automobiles on Twentieth street between Avenue A and Newark Bay. A charge of reckless driving also - against Parker by an owner of one of the parked cars. Parker was arrested by Radio Patrolmen James Whalen and Arthur Schweider. Taken to police headquarters, he was examined by Dr. Louis F. Norwich, assistant police surgeon, who pronounced him under the influence intoxicating liquor and unfit to drive. Both parked cars were damaged in the crash. They are owned by Joseph Zelenski, 21, of 158 West Twentieth street, and Frank Falandys, 21, same address. The reckless driving charge was made by Falandys. Speeders Arrested. Those arrested for speeding were Anthony J. Pizzo, 23, of 567 Avenue arrested Saturday evening by Motorcycle Officer George Mellendick, charged with driving 43 miles an hour; Arthur O. Freudenberg, 46, of 92 Jefferson avenue, Jersey City, by Motorcycle Officer Mellendick, 42 miles an hour; William A. Kucharski, 21, 42 East Grand street, by Sergt. John Tierney, 45 miles an hour; Moe Freedman, 34, 135 West Twenty ninth street, by Radio Patrolmen Joseph Savage and Michael Fedorochko, 45 miles an hour; Dominick Garcick, 30, 134 Forty third street, by Motorcycle Officer Eugene Sharkey, 42 miles an hour; Henry Villell, 23, 44 Garretson avenue, by Radio Patrolmen John Kott and John Skienar, 40 miles an hour. Joseph Gallucci, 25, of 554 Boulevard, was arrested on charges of failure to have an owner's and driver's license in his possession, reckless driving and improper parking. He was arrested Saturday evening by Motorcycle Officer Thomas Warnock.
