Description
English: "Calshot Castle". Engraving from page 49 of The New Forest: Its history and its scenery by John R. Wise. Printed by Smith, Elder and Co., London, 1863. Picture was drawn by Walter Crane and engraved by W. J. Linton, probably in 1862. According to John R. Wise, in the preface to his book, "the ugly modern windows of Calshot Castle ... have been omitted" from this picture.
