Vote for curly quotes. @R. J. Mathar I saw the title page has curly quotes. Given the amount of dialog, single and double marks, I think curled quotes are helpful to the reader. I'll do this on pages I work on, unless there is consensus otherwise. Happy to go back if needed. Just Al (talk) 00:26, 22 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
The style guide, paragraph 7 says "It is recommended to use "straight" quotes in works where there are a large number of contributing editors, since consistent use of “curly” quotes may be difficult to achieve." -- Beardo (talk) 01:06, 22 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Beardo I'm looking at 2 things: (1) scanned/OCR'd pages came with curly quotes already. To make them all straight would likely be more editing than leaving them as-is. Especially pages that are already yellow human proof'd and green. (2) author's style for rapid and overlapping dialogue. Making them straight would make the text less readable for the extra effort.
