Owls

Owls fly about at night. Their wings have such downy feathers you cannot hear the movement of them as they fly along.

Owls sleep most of the day, for their eyes are so large and staring, the light of the sun bothers them. So, they creep into holes in trees, or into the rafters of barns, and dream the day away.

I think it is much nicer to play during the day time when the sun is shining and the birds are singing and everything is happy and sunshiny; but I ’spect the owls don’t think so at all.

O
is for Owls. They are really not wise, Though they look knowing; with large staring eyes.
N

is for Pretty, you never can hide Your prettiness if you are sunny inside.
