Usefulness and Violets

Everything in the whole, wide world has a use of some sort.

The flowers with their lovely fragrance; the birds with their happy hearted singing; the rivers, the lakes and the oceans; the mountains and valleys—even the gloomy, rainy days are useful. The rain makes the flowers and vegetables grow and makes everything look clean and fresh. And, as everything is made to be useful, we must always try to be helpful too, for, in helping others we gain love and friendship and add to the sunniness in our own hearts. Just think what a joy it is to be able to add to the world’s happiness by being useful.

U
