The Conservative (Lovecraft)/January 1916/Maia
Appearance
Maia
Thou comest in the May-time
To star the earth with flow'rs,
To usher in the play-time
After laborious hours.
The myriad blooms acclaim thee
With petal-lips aglow,
While birds and rills but name thee
In all their flight and flow.
Speed on thy joyous mission
With wonder-blossoms clad,
Of life the sweet magician
To make our sad hearts glad.
