Transcluding works
[edit]Our current practice is not to transclude huge slabs of empty/new pages, and generally we would not look to transclude a whole work to the one page. Our current practice is to break works into natural sections, like chapters, which appear as subpages, and to have the entry at the root level as pertinent front matter of a work. These practices have developed in line with users' expectations and technologies such as mobile platforms.
If you have particular interest in having a chapter presented earlier than the complete work, then we would normally do that by doing the front matter and the chapter.

Template:nop as a paragraph marker
[edit]A quick note. When {{nop}} is being used as a place-holder at the end of a pargaraph, it should be placed on a new line, otherwise it is ineffective against the wiki code that trims trailing space. Hi. With respect to Page:Manual of the Lodge.pdf/93 and similar, please check out this thread which explains larger vs. larger block: User_talk:Billinghurst#Use_of_smaller/larger_&c._block. Otherwise these pages will be flagged as "lint errors".— Mpaa (talk) 17:42, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for the heads up. My understanding of that thread is that sections of text including span templates or paragraph breaks should be placed in 'larger block', unless they occur within div templates, in which case the individual paragraphs should be placed within 'larger'. Or, in other words, the span template should be used if and only if it doesn't enclose a div template or multiple paragraphs. If I'm getting this right, I'll correct my contributions accordingly. - Yes, correct. Larger/smaller basically handle one line or multiple lines separated by br tag (not by a new line or p tag). Otherwise you have to use smaller/larger block. If a smaller/larger block spans multiple pages it is convenient to use {{smaller block/s}} / {{smaller block/e}}, or the equivalent version for larger. See doc templates for more details.
