A sukkah cannot be smaller than 7x7 |
שלא תהיה פחות מן שבעה על שבעה |
634:1[edit]A sukkah that is not at least 7x7 [tefachim] is invalid. Regarding the size, there is no maximum dimension. |
סעיף א סוכה שאין בה שבעה על שבעה פסולה ולענין גודל אין לה שיעור למעלה: |
634:2[edit]If it is circular, it must be big enough to contain a 7x7 square. |
סעיף ב אם היא עגולה צריך שיהא בה כדי לרבע שבעה על שבעה: |
634:3[edit]If the sukkah is 7x7 and one places decorative garments in it and reduces the size to be below 7x7, it is invalid. |
סעיף ג יש בה ז' על ז' ונתן בה בגדים לנאותה וממעטים אותה משבעה על שבעה פסולה: |
634:4[edit]If one's head and most of their body are inside the sukkah and their table is outside the sukkah and they eat, it is as if they did not eat in the sukkah, even if it is a large sukkah. This is a decree due to the concern that they will be drawn towards the table. |
סעיף ד מי שהיה ראשו ורובו בסוכה ושולחנו חוץ לסוכה ואכל כאלו לא אכל בסוכה אפי' אם היא סוכה גדולה גזירה שמא ימשך אחר שלחנו: |
