violinist, tenor, critic, for New York Tribune, 1878 graduated from Dartmouth College, 1880 Columbia Law School, 1892 opened a church choir agency, founded the Manuscript Society of New York; son of lawyer Rufus Freeman Andrews (New York c.1820) and musician Mary Cornelia Fletcher (Cavendish 4.apr.1828); 23.may.1883 he married Ella Reed.
