English: From the original book: "In case there is a closet in the room or a recess, the last [suspended ceiling] board is sawed into two or three lengths, and these are placed in position, one after another, and nailed from above to the cross-strips, — care being taken to have these sections come directly over the cross-strips, so that from below the appearance is that of a continuous board."
