GIFTS

One, in her service, patient wrought,
Striving a duteous faith to prove;
But at the last, her eyes still sought
The face of one who gave but love

Grateful, from one she daily drew
Strength to sustain her failing breath;
But at the last, her spirit knew
That love is more than life—than death!
