Just sitting and talking light
Only two of them sit, perchance

And all houses, as you glance,
Have at least each a light
Window, a cry in the night –
Sign of the parted or met
Hundreds of candles alight,
Or maybe just three there set
Restless, my mind goes on,
On in the bitter night
Mine is a window anon
Bearing such lonely light
Pray for my house, my friend, as you pass
Keep for my shining glass!
