This lady is sitting beside a "vegetable sheep"—a huge fungus of New Zealand. On the right is a photograph of a fungs which broke through a weak spot in an asphalt pavement. What is called "growth pressure" is known to reach 20 atmospheres, or 300 pounds to the square inch.
