Repairs and Repeats.

BECAUSE of the quality and value put into Spirella Figure Training and Supporting Garments, the Spirella Corsetiere is as welcome in the home where rigid economy has to be practised as where money is more plentiful. Durability is a strong selling factor, but the superiority of Spirella would not alone account for our success, unless it had been backed up by Service.

Our Repair Department is a Service Department based on the principle that a satisfied client is a permanent client, and therefore our best Advertisement, and no more convincing evidence of the superiority of Spirella could be desired than the fact that we handle something like 5,000 repairs every month.

The greatest tribute that could be paid to this work is almost in the nature of a complaint that the renovation has been so well carried out that an order for a new garment has been postponed or even lost. In such a case all that has been lost is a glorious opportunity.

Every client prefers a new garment to an old one, however skilfully repaired it may be, and the client who is so satisfied with the garment she is wearing that she regards it as an "old friend" and is prepared to pay for repair, does not like the prospect of being without the comfort and support afforded by her Spirella Garment, even for a short time.

The repair then, presents the finest possible opportunity for a repeat. Many Corsetieres have seized upon this important point. What better opening could be afforded than this for emphasising the need of a "relief" garment?

In the case of the poorer client who must needs keep a close watch on her spending, this is the time to show her the advantage of being fitted up with an Economy Line garment. For the client who is more comfortably placed, the inconvenience of being without her Spirella garment during the process of repair, illustrates the need for having always two garments in wear. The saving which she can effect by a nominal payment for repair, where in the ordinary way a new garment would have to be purchased, affords an opening for securing an order for a garment in a better material.

As a rule the surprise and pleasure which a client expresses when a Corsetiere delivers the repaired garment—"Almost as good as new"—can be turned to profitable account by securing an order for the daughter, or some other member of the family. In any case this proof of Spirella durability, backed up by a unique and efficient Repair Service, does make the client ready and willing to recommend Spirella to her friends.

The profit derived from the first order represents but a small part of the permanent income which every Corsetiere should expect from a satisfied client. It is only the first of a series of payments through repeats which should come as a matter of course by reason of the client's satisfaction and the Corsetiere's regular contact with her.
