Newbery Medal

This index lists public-domain texts that have been awarded the Newbery Medal or the Newbery Honor. The Newbery Medal is an annual award given to the author of the year's "most distinguished contribution to American literature for children". The award committee also gives a variable number of citations, retroactively named as the Newbery Honor, to leading contenders for the Medal.
