Second son of Edward second Earl of Winterton, by Jane, daughter of Richard Chapman, Esq. of London. This officer was bom on the 14th Jan. 1787; made a lieutenant in Aug. 1807; and advanced to the rank of commander Sept. 20th, 1815.
