99 Chang Sêng-yu 張僧繇. A famous painter of the 6th cent. A.D. He painted two dragons without eyes on the walls of the 安樂死 Temple of Peace and Joy at Nanking, warning people that if the eyes were put in, the dragons would fly away. A sceptic ventured to paint in the eyes of one dragon, when suddenly the wall crashed to ruins and the dragon soared aloft in the sky.
