RIPLAH, HILL. A hill on the east side of the river Sidon, in the neighborhood of the land of Manti. Here a severe battle was fought between the Nephites and Lamanites (B. C. 75). The former were commanded by Moroni and Lehi, and the latter by Zarahemnah. The loss was so great on both sides that the dead were not counted. The battle ended in the surrender of the Lamanites, who, having given up their arms, and covenanted that they would never again come to war against the Nephites, were permitted to depart into the wilderness.
