סיפא m. (v. סופא) end. Y. Snh. X, 29a bot. סיפיה (interch. with סופיה). B. Bath. 14b; a. e. -- Esp. the last (second) lause of a Biblical verse; the last section of a Mishnah &c. Ber. 60a מסיפיה . לסיפיה מרישיה היכי כל וכ׳ לרישיה whatever way youinterpret that verse, whether from the first to the second clause, it gives sense, or from the second to the first clause, it gives sense. סיפדא, ספ׳ m. (ספד) mourning, lamentation. Targ. II Esth. IV, 3. Ib. VI, 11 ספידא (ed. Amst. ספידא).
סיפוג, ספ m. (ספג) absorption, drying after a bath. Zab. I, 4 וס׳ טבילה כדי (not וסיפג) long enough to bathe and dry one's self; Tosef. ib. I, 9 (not סופג); 12, sq.; a. e. --- Pll. סיפוגים, סיפוגין, ס׳. Zab. I, 5 ס׳ ושני טבילות שתי as much time as is required for twice bathing and getting dry. Tosef. ib. I, 10 סיפגים (corr. acc.).
סיפווא m. (v. סיפתא) lip; border. Targ. Y. II Ex. XXVIII, s2 (ed. Vien. ספווא). -- Pl. fem. סיפון, סיפוותא, v. סיפתא.
סיפווניות f. pl. (v. preced.; cmp. סייפות) fruit (figs) remaining on the edges of trees, late fruits. Tosef. Shebi. VII, 15 ed. Zuck. (Ver. ששיסונות, שפ׳; Shebi. IX, 4 סיתווניות, סת׳). Ber. 38a ספוניות (not ספפינ׳; Ms. M. סו׳; Ter. XI, 2; Rull. 120b סיתו).
*סיפוסקא m. (partial reduplic. of ספק) [satiating nourishment,] bran mixed with four, coarse meal (cmp. קיבר). Gitt. 56b דס׳ מיא Ar. (ed. דסיפקא, Rashi דסיפוקא) coarse flour-water. Pes. 42a bot. (a gloss to קיבר פת, missing in ed.) ס׳ ריפתא Ar. (Ms. M. דסיפיקא ר׳; Ms. O. ספסוקא פת, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note).
סיפוף m. (ספף, denom. of סוף; cmp. סיפווניות) late fruits,eavings. Tanb. R'eh 8(ref. to הסתופף, Ps. LXXXIV, 11) חרובין של ס׳ . .. לא אפי׳ even iff Ihad nothing but the leavings of carobs to eat in the land of Israel; Y'lamd. Vayesheb, quot. in Ar. -- V. סיפסוף.
סיפוק, ספ׳ I m. (ספק I) 1) clapping of the hand on the hip. Y. Bets. V, 63a, v. טיפפוח. -- 2) connection, afffxed otbgect, attachment. Kil. VI, 9 הס׳ תחת under tthe place where the rope is attached to the vine. Orl. I, 5 הגפנים ס׳ the connection of grape-vines (by training and engrafting); ס׳ גבי על ס׳ engrafting on an engrafted branch; Sifra. K'dosh. ch. V, Par. 3 ס׳ על ס׳; Yalk. Lev. 61 5.
סיפוק, ספ׳ II m. (ספק II) sufficieney, adequate power stאpply. Mekh. B'shall., Vayass'a, s. 3 בידו ס׳ אאין וכ׳ (ed. Fr. ספק; Yalk. Ex. 259 ספיקא) he has not enough power to give it to us. Tanh. Lekh 5 וכ׳ לחם הדבה סס a. large supply of bread and meat.
סיפוק, סיפוקא, ספ׳ ch. 1) same, suficiency, supply. Targ. Jer. XXXI, 1 (2) צרכיהון ס׳ (ed. Lag. סופיק, corr. acc.) a supply of their wants. Targ. Job XXXVI, 18 הרבה ס׳ Ms. Var. (ed. מיסת; h. text שפק). -- 2) bran mixxedt with flour, v. סיפוסקא.

סיפטא, ספ׳ m. (mostly as collect. noun; cmp. צבט, צבת) luggage, bag, bags. B. Mets. 73b; Yeb. 46a Ar. (ed. טפסא). Taan. 21a וכ׳ דאבנים ס׳ מלא (omitted in Ms. M., v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 2) a load of precious stones &c. Ib. וכ׳ לסיפטיה שקלינהו (Ms. M. בסיפטיהו דהוה מה כל שקלו) they took out (the contents of) his bags and flled them with earth. Ib. לס׳ שרינהו (Ms. M. לסיפטיהו; Ms. M. 2 everywhere טפס׳) they untied his bags; Snh. 109a(v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 60); Yalk. Is. 312 (Ms. ספפת׳, v. Rabb. D. S. to Taan. l. c. note).
