פרימא, v. פירמא.
פרימה f. (פרם) tearing, rending of garments. Meg. I, 7 בלבד ופ׳ פריעה אלא . . . בין אין there is no legal difference between the locked up and the definite leper, except with regard to letting the hair grow wild and tearing the gar- ments (Lev. XIII, 45). Sifra Thazr., Par. 5, ch. IX מן וטהר וכ׳ הפ׳ ומן הפריעה he is clean (Lev. XIII, 34), that is, he is free from the duty of &c. Hor. 12b (ref. to Lev. XXI, 10) עיקר כל ופ׳ בפריעה שאינו that he must not let his hair grow wild or tear his garments at all; a. e.

פריסותא f. (פרס) spreading, cover, layer; דתרבא פ׳ the layer of fat which is spread over the cut throat of the sacrifice (v. Hull. 27b). Targ. Y. Lev. I, 8; III, 3; 14.
פריסתותא f. pl. (denom. of פריסא, cmp. Lat. velarius; Syr. פרסטיותא, פרסתנתא, P. Sm. 328 1; 3283) curtain-guards, chambermaids. TTarg. Jud..V, 29 (h. text שרות;Pesh.עלימתא).
פריסתקא m. (v. פרדיסקי I) soldier, orderly, police- man. Gitt. 56b מרוממי עליה פ׳ אתא a courier came for his sake from Rome and said, Rise, for they have elected thee Cesar (Ar. a message). Ber. 58a פ׳ עליה שדר he (the king) sent an orderly for him (summoning him to appear; Ms. M. קרייה קיסר שדר). B. Mets. 86a בתריה דמלכא פ׳ שדרו (Ms. M. פ׳ only) they sent a policeman after him (to arrest him). Keth. 62a וכ׳ דמלכא פ׳ חליף ולא and a royal officer never passed his door (to molest him with execution &c.; Ar. דרוקא). -- Pl. פריסתקי. Meg. 7a שדוי ׳ דילמא (Ms. O. דמלכא פ׳) perhaps they sent word through orderlies; Yalk. Esth. 1059 (sing.). - Hebr. form פפרסתקין. Gen. R. s. 41 ילך וכ׳ מן פ׳ שני לו ויביא (Ar. פרצתקין) let him go and bring in two soldiers (common men) from the street and make them his heirs; Yalk. ib. 70.
פריע I (formed fr. part. pass. of פרע I) to be uncovered, deprived of; to forfeit. Targ. Y. IEx. XXXII, 25 . . ריעו וכ׳ ית (Y. II פרעו, incorr.) they had forfeited the crown &c.
פריע II m. (פרע II) speed; בפ׳ quickly. Num. R. s. 19 (transl. מהר סרו, Ex. XXXII, 8) בפ׳ סטו. Y. Kidd. I, 59a bot. בפ׳ אינשמת you might have recovered quickly. M'norath Hammaor, ed. Stettin, Nr. 9 quot. fr. Kallah, תיתי לא אמאי בפ׳ why dost thou not come quickly?

פריעה f. (פרע) 1) letting the hair grow in neglect. Meg. I, 7, a. e., v. פרימה. M. Kat. 15a וכ׳ אלא פ׳ אין p'ri'ah (Lev. XIII, 45) means, to let the hair grow (opp. to the opinion that par a means, to uncoשer, remove the headt. dress, v. infra). - 2) uncovering, remoing the mourne's wrap (v..עטיפה). Ib. 24a הראש פפריעתttaking of the mourner's wrap (on the Sabbath); Gen. R. s. 100. -- 3) uncovering the corona at circumcision, splitting the membrane and pull- ing it down. Yeb. 71b וכ׳ מילה סריעת ניתנה לא Abraham was not commanded to tear &c. Deut. R. s. 6, beg. (ref. to למולות, Ex. IV, 26) לפ׳ ומכאן למילה מכאן from this we derive circumcision and also uncovering. Ib. (ref. to המול ימול Gen. XVII, 13) ופ׳ מילה מילות שתי two operations, circumcision and uncovering; a. e. -) paying a debt. B. Bath. 174a, a. e. וכ מצוה חוב בעל פריעת paying a creditor is a religious obligation, and minors (the debtor's children) are not subject to religious obligations (therefore the guarantor who paid for them must wait until they are of age).

פריץ m. (b. h.; פרץ) 1) [he that breaks through, cmp. ברחא,] leader, prince, conqueror. -- Pl. פריצים, פריצין. Gen. R. s. 85; Yalk. ib. 145, v. רבה Pi. -- 2)unbridled, licentious, impudent. - Pl. as ab. Y. Ber. I, 4b bot. הדור פריצי the impudent (scorners) of that generation. Kidd. 71a משרבו וכ׳ היו הפ׳ when the bold (indiscreet) became numerous, the secret of the Divine Name of twelve letters was en- trusted only to the discreet &c.; a. fr. -IIkts. III, 6 פריצי תיםu, v. זית; Num. R. s. 19 זחים כפ׳ שלהם הפסולת וזהו וכ׳ הפלטים and this (Og who escaped when the Refalim were beaten) was the refuse among them, like the hard olives that escape being mashed &c.; Yalk. ib. 765.
פריצאI ch. same, 1) unbridled, licentious. - Pl. פריצי. Ber. 3b, opp. כשרי. - 2) wild, vicious. Ib. 54a פ׳ גמלא (some ed. פרצא; Ms. M. פריקא).
פריצא IIm. (פרץ) breach. - Pl. פריצין. Targ. II Esth. III, 8 (ed. Lag. פייצין).
פריצותאf. (v. פריצא I) licentiousness, obscenity. Sot. 48a פ׳ גברי זמרי when men sing, and women respond, it is licentiousness. Ib. 26b וכ׳ ופ׳ היא בעלמא פ׳ this is merely an act of obscenity (not real adultery), and has the Law forbidden a wife to her husband because of an act of obscenity; Yeb. 55b. B. Mets. 91a ליכא פ׳ משום ואפי׳ and it is not even considered an obscenity; a. e. -- Trnsf. a bold, licentious woman. Meg. 12b וכ׳ הואי פ׳ מכדי she (Vashti) being a licentious woman . . . why did she refuse to appear?; Yalk. Esth. 1049 (not הוא פ׳).
