JOLLIFFE. (Lieutenant, 1845.)
William Kynaston Jolliffe passed his examination 20 May, 1835; and at the period of his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant, which took place 30 Dec. 1845, had been serving for about 18 months in the Mediterranean as Mate of the Flamer steam-vessel, Lieut.-Commander Chas. Jas. Postle. He was appointed, 9 Feb. following, to the Virago steam-sloop, Capt. John Lunn, on the same station; and has been there employed, since 1 Oct. 1846, as Senior of the Phoenix, another steamer, Capt. Jas. Sam. Akid Dennis.
