THE DREAM
In the night, the night and the dark,I dreamed me a dream. What that its hope lay starkWith the dawn's first gleam? What that I closed its eyesAnd went my way?All through the calm, the wise,The passionless day,I smiled at the glamor called light,So cold did it seem,And followed a ray from the night,From the dark, from the dream.
