AN ACT PRESCRIBING THE COAT-OF-ARMS OF THE
REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES

Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Republic of the Philippines:

Section 1.The coat-of-arms of the Republic of the Philippines shall be as follows:

Paleways of two pieces, dexter, gules, and sinister, azure; a chief, argent, bearing three mullets, or, dexter, center, and sinister; an equilateral triangular field, argent, emblazoning at the honor point the symbolic eight-rayed sun in rayonnant, or, each ray flanked on both sides by lesser and minor rays, or. Beneath, a scroll, argent, with the word "Pilipinas" inscribed thereon.

Sec. 2. Any utterance in speech, writing or drawing, and any act or omission casting dishonor, ridicule or contempt upon the coat-of-arms of the Republic of the Philippines, as well as its use as trademark, or as industrial, commercial or agricultural label or design, and any drawing or inscription upon said coat-of-arms are hereby prohibited; and any person who, either by himself or through another, violates the prohibition herein contained, shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less than ten pesos nor more than two hundred pesos, or imprisonment of not less than ten days nor more than sixty days, or both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the court.

Sec. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
