Ah, how fair the sunlight seemsWhen the dark cloud passes!Ah, what soothing fragrance streamsFrom the deep-drenched grasses!
Little birds in airy flightFlit, forgetting showers;Bury faces in delightDeep in breasts of flowers.
All along the laughing brook,Bees lurk through the clover;But, for tears, I scarce can look—My heart's day is over.
