[Verse]
- In a shady nook in a garden,
- One long summer afternoon,
- Golden haired Alice fell fast asleep
- while the bees hummed a lullaby tune,
- And what Alice dreamed in the garden
- was a marvelous dream indeed;
- So a poet wrote Alices dream in a book.
- For old and young children to read!
[Refrain]
- I wish I could wander in wonderland
- Don't you?
- I wish I could meet all the people she met
- Don't you?
- To that Mad tea party I'd love to go,
- With all those wonderful guests we know,
- I wish the white Rabbit would take my hand
- and lead me to wonderland!
[Verse]
- I would love to meet the old Duchess,
- And talk with the gossiping mouse,
- Hear the wise old remarks of the Dodo Bird,
- Meet that Puppy as big as a house,
- And the Footman Frog and the Footman Fish,
- and the whole of the Court Card group;
- I would love the Mock Turtle who wept and who sighed.
- For fear he would end in the soup!
[Refrain]
- I wish I could wander in wonderland
- Don't you?
- I wish I could meet all the people she met
- Don't you?
- Oh it would be jolly to have a chat,
- With that grinning, Cheerfully, Chesire Cat,
- I wish the Black Kitten would take my hand
- and lead me to wonderland!
- I do
- Don't you?
- I'm perfectly sure you do.
