Flug, masculine, ‘act of flying, flight, flock,’ from Middle High German vluc (plural vlüge), Old High German fluy, masculine; corresponding to Anglo-Saxon flyge, Old Icelandic flugn, masculine, ‘flight’; verbal abstract of fliegen.
