Frischling, m., ‘young wild-boar,’ from MidHG. vrischinc, vrischlinc, m.; a derivative of frisch with the suffixes -ing, -ling. The OHG. frisking (fruscing), ‘beast of offering,’ was adopted by OFr. as fresange, ‘young pig.’
