Knocke, f., ‘bundle, bunch,’ ModHG. only, from LG. knocke; proved to be a genuine OTeut. word by AS. *cnyčče, MidE. knucche, ‘bundle’ (e.g. ‘bundle of hay’), E. knitch, ‘faggot’; Goth. *knuka, or rather *knukja, m., are wanting.
