Reisigen, pl., ‘horsemen,’ usually connected with MidHG. reise, ‘military expedition,’ yet it may be also a derivative of rîten, ‘to ride,’ since OHG. rîso, ‘horseman,’ occurs (rîþtan- gives rîssan-, rîsan-).
