Zuckerkand, m., ‘sugar-candy,’ ModHG. only, from Fr. sucre candi, Ital. zucchero candito, ‘crystallised sugar, sugar-candy,’ which is derived from Arab. qand; the ultimate source of the word is Indian khand, ‘piece.’
