prassen, vb., ‘to riot, carouse,’ ModHG. only, from Du. brassen, ‘to gormandise’ (akin to bras, ‘feast’). OIc. brass, ‘cook,’ and brasa, ‘glowing coal’ (comp. OFr. brese, Prov. brasa), may be connected with it.
