unwirsch, adj., ‘cross, rude, morose,’ from MidHG. (rare) unwirs, usually unwirdesch, ‘unworthy, contemptuous, indignant, angry.’ Comp. MidHG. unwërt, ‘despised, unsuited, disagreeable’; allied to wert. See also wirsch.
