wirsch, adj., ‘cross, angry,’ ModHG. only, an imitation of MidHG. unwirsch (from unwirdesch, unwürdesch). The signification cannot be explained from the MidHG. compar. wirs (equiv. to E. worse, Goth. waírsis).
