Angus M‘Diarmid
(c. 1770 – c. 1820)

also represented as “Angus McDiarmid”; Scottish ground-officer of the Earl of Breadalbane’s estate of Edinample. He is known solely for his Striking and Picturesque Delineations (1815), a description of the “grand, beautiful, wonderful, and interesting scenery” in the region of Loch-Earn, an estate of the Earl. The work is widely renown as a literary masterpiece, as discussed in the book’s “Preface,” for the general beauty of his descriptions, and is noted for the author’s unusual grammatical structures, used to best convey the beauty of that scenery in which he was always surrounded.
