Li Bai
(701–762)

called the Poet Immortal, Li Bai (李白) is often regarded, along with Du Fu, as one of the two greatest poets in China's literary history. Approximately 1,100 of his poems remain today. Li Bai's works became well-known to the English-speaking world from Ezra Pound's very liberal translations. Li Bai is also known by his name's literary form Li Po and by the Japanese form Rihaku.
