Walter Rogers Johnson
(1794–1852)

American scientist, educator and writer. Associated with the Franklin Institute and the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia. Founding member of the Association of American Geologists and in 1847, the first secretary of its successor, the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
