That surely must be The Derbyshire Hudibras? Not quite easy to verify with Google, though. Charles Matthews (talk) 07:47, 27 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

My ignorance is showing through, or it is a very cryptic comment. Care to elucidate. — billinghurst sDrewth 09:23, 27 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
And do you think that I can find the source that I identified first time around? No. I can see something refered to in Notes and Queries index of 1889 series 7, vol. 6, that refers to p.189. —

w:Hudibras for the original of the allusion. All the other Google hits for "Hundibras" seem to be clear typos. I meant that the Notes and Queries hit is probably a typo also, but double-checking that isn't trivial. Charles Matthews (talk) 21:28, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

You are correct and it is a little query http://www.archive.org/stream/rss7notesqueries06londuoft#page/188/mode/2up/search/alsager

To add to what we have: a graduate of Balliol College, Oxford, he has been in the news recently as a correspondent of Oscar Wilde.[1][2] Charles Matthews (talk) 19:57, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
