Arthur Brunel Chatwood, B.Sc. (Lond.), born at Bolton-le-Moors on the 19th November, 1866, died at Colombo on the 2nd July 1915. For many years he was engaged in his father's works, Chatwood's Patent Safe and Lock company, latterly as Engine and London Manager, designing and erecting security structures, hydraulic and other machinery, etc. In 1908 he went to Hyderabad as Astronomer to the Nizam's Government, building and organizing the Observatory there. He was elected an Associate member on the 5th March, 1901.
