[edit]@Peteforsyth, @Billinghurst: I'm not sure if Ericcson is correct, as it's not uncommon typo of Ericsson (and I know about that findagrave dotcom claim). —Mykhal (talk) 13:41, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Mykhal: Thank you. I've done a little more research and still find no other mention of his full first name (nor that of Eric W. Allen Jr., which might be a clue). I should be able to access Ancestry in the near future, and can see if there are handwritten census records or similar. If we can't come to a definitive answer, I'd suggest moving the page to author:Eric William Allen, Sr. (both avoiding the uncertainty of the first name, and disambiguating from his son, who was locally and nationally renowned as a writer as well). -Pete (talk) 14:07, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- Pete: Looking on Ancestry, he was only called Eric W. Allen. The records list a Jr. born about 1920 (but after the 1920 Census). I can pull some more information, if you’d like. He shows up on the 1910, 1920, 1930, and 1940 Censuses. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 03:31, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the offer TE(æ)A,ea.. I don't think it's crucial, but if you do find something it would be nice to have a clearer answer. I believe FindAGrave is the only place I've seen a first name other than "Eric." -Pete (talk) 17:18, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
