Disambiguation

@Billinghurst: I guess there are no notability requirements for Wikisource authors? This guy seems pretty obscure. There is a well-known U.S. politician by this name. He made lots of speeches, some fairly notable. Currently there is a search box on the politician's Wikipedia page which shows this author page as the first item. At least some dates would be appropriate, and I will do that. Library Guy (talk) 15:49, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

@Library Guy: Sure. Our notability is publishing, and whenever we disambiguate no author remains at the root, it becomes our disambiguation. When we have an author page for that Henry and some works to list then we will disambiguate. This is one of the reasons why we disambiguate like we do. Not certain why the enWP page would have such a hard link when we didn't even have an author page, I did convert the {{wikisource-author}} template to utilise WD links to get around the issue of disambiguation and link rot. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:50, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

@Library Guy: The guidance to community is that if we have a string of resources about a person, then to create a portal page for them if they are not a writer, and you can use {{person}}. If they are a writer, then to create the author page. Red links to author pages are just a hole, especially for more common names where there is no clarity that the person was a writer. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:20, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
