this article talks about her association with Charles Dickens and Gladstone. If that is the case it would indicate that some relationship to William Harrison Ainsworth, though he had three daughters.

- @Billinghurst: I believe that would be this person. If I understand the "Who Was Who" entry correctly, her father's name was John. Perhaps (William) Harrison was her grandfather or uncle? Having difficulty accessing family trees for any of them (not much in find-a-grave). -Pete (talk) 21:17, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Peteforsyth: I have been working through https://archive.org/details/williamharrisona01elli/page/10/mode/2up to see what I can find on the Ainsworth family, and I cannot find that anyone has uploaded something definitive. Who's Who can be notoriously wrong when relying on hearsay records, so it is a little tricky, especially as I think that Marian may not be her true personal name as there is a paucity of records. I also am alert to the fact that her husband's Harrison middle name could be adopted, or possibly an indicator of familial marriage, it is all getting murky and I need to find some primary records and for that I am needing place. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:51, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- And that person you identified is William Harrison Ainsworth for whom a lot exists. Two marriages 1826-1838 and 1865-1882, so we have to look to brothers, cousins. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:57, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for your diligence. I don't think I have much more to offer on this one, but appreciate seeing some of the details come together. Pete (talk) 13:23, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
