Author talk:Plato
Add topicFebruary 2, 2007 I added "Letters" to the "Spurious or Doubtful" works. I also changed the "and" to "or" in "Spurious or Doubtful." I think there are other "S or D" works, or perhaps those are merely historically "attributed" but discredited (as to authorship.) —unsigned comment by RickLightburn (talk) 16:51, 2 February 2007.
The Jowett translations which are mostly used here (I take it for copyright reasons) don't have Stephanus pagination. This seems to be a sympton of every online version of Jowett's translations. Is at also the case in hard copies? I don't have any handy.
In any case, they should be added. The page numbers of the Stephanus edition of the works of Plato are universally used by scholars in citing the text, and are included in all serious modern printings. Including them would (incredibly) alone make wikisource among the very best free sources of Plato texts on the internet. It will require a bit of work, but even a start (marking off every fifth whole number) will make them far more usable.—unsigned comment by 136.142.20.168 (talk) 19:29, 21 May 2008.
