One man was found to be slightly injured, although three were taken to the hospital, following a crash between a jitney bus and a Ford touring car shortly after 1 o'clock this morning, at the Boulevard and Twenty-second street. The three men from the jitney, who claimed they were injured, gave their names as Michael Sullivan, 22 years old, of 303 Jackson avenue and Otto Winblad, 23, 809 Montgomery street, both of Jersey City, and Theodore Lattan [sic], 25, of 163 East One Hundred and fourth street, New York City. The men were taken in a commandeered jitney bus to Police Headquarters. They were transferred to the Bayonne Hospital where they were examined by Dr. Gratton who said that Lattan was the only one of the trio who was injured and that he had sustained a slight bruise of the left leg. John Bagdon, 49, of 90 Prospect avenue, owner and driver of the Ford car was held on a charge of atrocious assault and battery. Attempted to Turn. Bagdon was proceeding south on the Boulevard at Twenty-second street, attempted to make a left turn. It is alleged, that he crashed into the rear of jitney [sha]king up the handful of passengers it was carrying at the time. The left rear wheel of the jitney was smashed as well as its left rear end while the running board and front of the Ford were also demolished. The jitney which is owned by Augusta Daguire of 417 Third street. Jersey City, was being driven by Michael Picardi. Bagdon, who had been released early this morning, did not appear when his name was called, but on account of the fact that he himself had to adjourn court to go to Jersey City, Recorder Eugene T. Sharkey adjourned the case until tomorrow.
