The Author pages in this category use honorifics in the page titles, contrary to established practice on English Wikisource. Honorifics include titles such as: Miss, Mrs, Mr, Doctor/Dr, Reverend/Rev, King/Queen/Emperor/Pope, Saint/St, or any other such title that is not part of the individual's name.
There are three scenarios where this might occur:
- The honorific is included as a courtesy title, but is not really necessary for identification. In this case, please move the Author page to remove the honorific from the page title, then remove the {{honorifics}} template from the Author page.
- The honorific is included in place of an unknown given name, possibly along with the given name(s) or initial(s) of the Author's husband. In this case, further research is needed, but once a given name is identified please move the Author page to remove the honorific, then remove the {{honorifics}} template from the Author page.
- The honorific is part of the author's public identity or pen name, such that removing the honorific would cause confusion (e.g. Dr. Seuss). In this case, community consensus should be sought. If the the community agrees that the honorific should be kept, then please place the template {{honorifics}} on the Author Talk page, and use the parameter
ignore=yes
to remove it from this category.
This category is populated by {{honorifics}}.
