Blamont, Francois Colin De, was born at Versailles in the year 1690, and for his merit in his profession, was made a chevalier of the order of St. Michael. He was a composer for the opera, and enjoyed the places of superintendent of the king's music, and master of that of his chamber. He wrote the operas "Didon," "Les Fetes Grecques et Romaines," "Il Pastor fido," &c. He died in the year 1760.
