COCKBURN, SIR WILLIAM, BARONET (1768–1835)
Son of Colonel James Cockburn : born in a camp in 1768 : entered the Army when only 10 years old : in the American war, and a captain at 15 : in India 1790–1802 : in the first Mysore war, and at Seringapatam in 1792, where he acted as Engineer : Lt-General, 1821 : died March 19. 1835.
