I.C.S. : brother of Arthur Conolly (q.v.) : educated at Rugby, went to Madras, 1824 : served in Bellary, and for many years as District Officer of the Malabar district : he was murdered in his own house by Moplah fanatics on Sep. 11, 1855 : he had been nominated to be provisional Member of Council, Madras.
