• To decline doing or accepting; as an interjection, behold! oh! as an adverb, then.

i sía tàⁿ “bw̄n màiⁿ chui-khiak”;

he writes saying, “do not on any account decline”.

úa kāu-kìe sĭ cieⁿ-seⁿ, khiak sĭ hìeⁿ-seⁿ;

I thought it was thus, but behold it was so.

khiak m̄ tit nâng-chêng;

could not refuse the favour.
