From wide, star-woven curtainsThe heavens are released,And the flusht dawn flings openThe portals of the east.
Forest and vale are floodedWith birds' melodious chant,And mountains echoes answerIn songs exuberant.
Fair as for birth or bridal,All nature breathes with bloom—And man takes blindly onwardOne step more towards the tomb,
