XLIII
As in the sky rises the moon—
So into hearts love enters;
And secret pain and silent grief
Around it often centers.
And visions man had not thought of
He may see, dimly lighted,
And secret pain and silent grief
May be in song united.
But gales and tempests violent
In many hearts are waking,
And ere in song they utter them—
How many hearts are breaking!
